Black Sheep Teaser, Trailer, and Song Launched; Movie releasing this Friday

A film titled Black Sheep, created by a team of fresh talent, is all set for release. As part of the first stage of promotion, the teaser, trailer, and songs were launched in a grand event.

Originally a dancer, Jeevan Hallikar — who worked with Sruthi Hariharan in Hare Rama Hare Krishna, paired with Charmee Kaur in Dev Son of Muddegowda, and was a dance choreographer for Ellige Payana Yavudo Daari — has now taken on the roles of writer, screenwriter, director, and choreographer for this film, drawing from all his experience.

Produced under the banner of Glitters Star House Productions by Ashwini Gurucharan, who is also the costume designer, the film has Manjunath P. Rao as co-producer.

Speaking on the occasion, the director explained that the film blends five genres and two timelines, unfolding as a story rich in crime, suspense, and thrill. Inspired by Upendra and his style, Jeevan Hallikar has created sequences shifting between past and present. Some real incidents have also been incorporated into the film. The term “Black Sheep” emerged naturally from the rhyming nature of the genre title, leading to its use as the film’s title.

The story focuses on a conflict between the hero and villain, where certain events are forgotten by the protagonist, yet life continues. How he sets out to rediscover those forgotten events forms the central plot, keeping the suspense alive till the very end. The movie also includes mafia elements and was shot in scenic locations such as Bengaluru, Mangaluru, and Bombay.

Fitness model Vishal Kiran plays the lead as a CBI officer, with Shivangi Dave as the heroine. Prashanth V. Hari appears in a villainous role. Other cast members include Nisha Hegde, Sidlungu Sridhar, Krishna Hebbale, Sundar Veena, Puneeth, and Deepika Adtale.

The songs, with lyrics by Abhijit Mahesh and Shailesh Kumar, have been set to music by Siddharth Kamath. Cinematography is by Devu, editing by S. Akash Mahendrakar, and stunts choreographed by Avatar Aditya.
