Congratulation Brother Fame Acto Rakshith Nag Locks Two New Stories
Many Kannada actors like Yash, Radhika Pandit, Ganesh, and Rachita Ram have successfully transitioned from television to the big screen. Following in their footsteps, several TV talents are striving to make a mark in films. Among the promising names is Rakshith Nag, known for popular serials like Brahmagantu, Muddulakshmi, and Kadambari. Having trained in acting for three years at Hamsalekha’s academy and performed in over 100 stage plays, Rakshith Nag has already made an impression on television and is now gearing up to shine in films. He made his debut as a lead actor with Congratulations Brother, released last year. Since then, he has reportedly listened to around 10 scripts.

“I never expected Congratulations Brother to receive such a good response. People in the film industry appreciated my performance as well. Over the last three to four months, I’ve heard more than 10 stories, most of them commercial. However, I haven’t finalized anything yet. I’ve suggested some changes to one script, and if that works out, we will announce it soon,” Rakshith Nag shared. He added that many appreciated his performance, saying he looked as confident as someone who had acted in several films, despite it being his debut. “So I am being very careful in selecting my second project—both in terms of story and character. Also, I will be doing a film with director Santu of Alemari. Both these films will go on floors this year, and one of them is expected to release within the same year,” he said.

Cinema or Television?
Speaking about the differences between films and television, Rath Nag said, “A serial is like a mini government job—you usually have a two-year contract. You get money, fame, and a comfortable life. But for someone who enters television with dreams of cinema, it becomes difficult to stay there. On the other hand, films come with financial uncertainty. From developing a story to bringing together technicians and actors, and finding a producer—it’s a big risk. Sometimes I still wonder if taking that risk is worth it. But the satisfaction and happiness I get from cinema cannot be found anywhere else.”
