Kaalave Mosagara Review: Slow Story, But Bharath’s Performance Shines Bright

Film: Kaalaave Mosagaara Director: Sanjay KulkarniCast: Bharath Sagar, Yashaswini Ravindra, Vijay Chendoor, Shankaramurthy, Kuri Prathap, Bank Janardhan, Darshan, and others“In every love story, there’s a hero and a villain. But in my love story, I’m both the hero and the villain,” says Kittu (played by Bharath). The girl he loved has allegedly given a supari(contract) to a top Bangalore rowdy to kidnap him! When Kittu hears about her engagement, he walks into a bar drowning in heartbreak. Coincidentally, Avinash (played by Shankar), who got engaged the same day, comes to the same bar to celebrate. Intrigued and moved by Kittu’s situation, Avinash urges him to share his love story.

From here, the story of Kittu and Sandhya (Yashaswini), a music teacher, begins to unfold. How did their love blossom? What caused the breakup? Will Kittu and Sandhya reunite? To find out, one must watch Kaalaave Mosagaara.

Had everything gone as planned, this movie would have released four years ago. However, COVID-19 delayed its release. Despite the delay, the story doesn’t feel outdated. For instance, a recent honeymoon murder case in Meghalaya involved a wife hiring a hitman to kill her husband. In this film, the girlfriend is the one who puts a contract on her boyfriend’s life. These shocking elements keep the film moving.

Bharath Sagar breathes life into the role of Kittu. With his dance, fight sequences, and impressive acting, he shows promise. If he receives the right opportunities, he has all the qualities to become a reliable lead actor in the film industry. Yashaswini also captures attention in a few emotional scenes. Kuri Prathap and Vijay Chendoor provide comic relief at intervals. Other supporting characters deliver decent performances.

Lokesh’s background score and music complement the film. Had the screenplay been stronger, the film could have resonated even more with the audience. Nevertheless, it’s definitely worth a one-time watch.
