Mahakaliputra, A story that travels from a Farmer to a Soldier…

A new film titled “Maha Kaliputra” is being produced by Girish S.M. under the banner of Tirupati Tirumala Productions. Girish himself is directing the film. The title launch event of the movie was held recently. Girish Gowda has written the screenplay for the film and is also assisting in the direction. Speaking at the event, actor, producer and director Girish S.M. said: “I am basically a farmer, and I have come forward to make a film about farmers. This is my first film. If I have to explain the title, Maha Kaliputra means a devotee of the Goddess. In earlier times, farmers used to worship the Goddess every day before going to their work. In the film, we portray the farmer as the son of the Goddess.

This movie carries a strong message about farmers. In earlier times, farmers worked with honesty and dedication and fed the entire nation. But today, the farmer does not receive the respect and value he truly deserves from society. In this film, we have connected the life of a farmer who trusts the soil and works hard with that of a soldier who protects the nation. Farmers have been practicing agriculture in the past and even today, but the style and techniques have changed with time. Bulls are not just raised for prestige; they are raised for farming and later can also be used for races. Our film will also feature bull races. We are trying to make the film look fresh and unique from beginning to end. Compared to all the previous films made about farmers, this movie will present a different story. The shooting will begin from the 15th of this month around Bengaluru. Since this is planned as a pan-India film, artists from different languages will also be part of the project.” he says.

Screenplay writer Girish Gowda said: “Girish had earlier worked with me as an assistant. Currently, I am working on the film ‘Maddur Vade’. This story is about our soil and our land. The same soil can even contribute to the army, and gunpowder can also be produced from minerals found in our land. Based on a small mining concept, we have developed this story to show the true value of our soil. We will soon introduce the heroine of the film. We are planning to release the movie around the time of Dasara. A real temple fair (Jatre) in Shivamogga will be shot as part of the film. The story takes place around Mandya and Maddur. The movie will have only one song, with music composed by Rahul Vastara, and the background score will be done in Chennai. Keerthan Poojari is handling the cinematography. Vishnu, who earlier worked with Ravi Varma, is choreographing the action sequences. The concept is somewhat similar in spirit to the film ‘Thithi’.”

Producer Girish added that they are making the film with the hope that as many people as possible will like it, but they are also prepared to face the ups and downs that naturally come with filmmaking. Venkatesh, who earlier worked on the films “Rajanivasa” and “Pyar”, has written the dialogues for the film. Team member Manish Upadhya also spoke at the event and said that Girish is making the film with a strong and meaningful message, and wished the team great success.
