Teaser of Gangs of UK Released – Movie to hit screens on April 10
The countdown has begun for the release of director Ravi Srivatsa’s film “Gangs of UK”, which is set to hit theatres on April 10. Promotional activities for the film have now started. The movie will be distributed across the state by Chandan Suresh under his Chandan Films banner. Ahead of the release, the teaser of the film was unveiled on Saturday evening at the SRV Preview Theatre in Malleswaram. Senior distributor Sanjeev Murthy launched the teaser and wished the team success. Chandan Suresh, producers “Soorappa” Babu and K. Manju, among others, were present at the event and extended their best wishes.
Speaking on the occasion, Ravi Srivatsa explained why he took up this project. “The characters in this story are still alive today and are angry against the system. With no support from society, the system, or law enforcement, they are silently suffering in pain. When asked why they don’t come forward, a mother simply points to her children and says she lives for them. There is also an elderly woman whose story is narrated through this film,” he said. Clarifying the title, Ravi Srivatsa added, “Gangs of UK is not just about fights, violence, or gangsters. It is a story of a mother’s tears and, in another sense, the blood and pain of a woman. The protagonist, played by Prashanth, transforms from a Dharmaraya-like figure into a Parashurama. This has no connection with the story of Bheemateera killers. The film features characters like Kaala, his innocent sister Kaali, Shivayya Sahukar, his uncle Virupaksha Sahukar, and Rudresh. Starting from a small conflict, it shows how people rise in rebellion and how bloodshed continues. More people join as emotions run high and blood ties take over. It is a raw, rooted story that I wanted to bring to the screen. If I had made it alone, it might have turned more violent and perhaps not even passed censorship. That’s why I collaborated with my mentor M.S. Ramesh. With his support and that of the entire team, the film has shaped up well.”

M.S. Ramesh, who has written the screenplay and dialogues, said, “Many people felt the trailer was too violent and even criticized us. But judging a two-hour film based on a two-minute trailer is not fair. We released it to provoke a reaction. There’s a saying—if you want peace, there must be revolution. That essence lies in this story. We are all calm, but a moment of anger can lead to consequences beyond imagination. Those criticizing now will understand the depth after watching the film. We are not afraid of negative comments because we believe in our film. People like Sanjeev Murthy, Chandan Suresh, and ‘Soorappa’ Babu encouraged us despite concerns about violence. After watching the film, Sanjeev Murthy even said it reminded him of K.V. Raju after 20 years. As his students, Ravi and I felt proud. With promotional materials coming out, initial negative responses are turning positive. Encouraged by this, we are already planning a sequel, with nearly 30% of it already shot. We are confident the film will receive good support.”

“Gangs of UK” is produced by Ravi Srivatsa under the Deadly Arts banner. The film stars “Orata” Prashanth, Muni, Padmavasanthi, Sonu Upadhya, Praveen, “Ugram” Reddy, Sathya, Dhillan, Naveen, Prajwal Maski, Umesh, Vikas, Amogh, and others. Cinematography is handled by R. Giri.
