In the Kannada film industry, you may have often seen real-life incidents being adapted into films. Now, yet another such real incident is set to be brought to the big screen. The film is titled ‘March 23’. Based on a real incident that took place at a Bengaluru railway station after 6:30 PM on March 23, 2021, the film derives its title from the date itself. The story revolves around how a person who stands up against the injustice faced by an innocent railway employee is subjected to severe brutality. Ultimately, it portrays how an ordinary citizen fights against oppression and exploitation.

Madhu Mandagere, who has been active in the Kannada film industry for nearly three decades and has appeared in several supporting roles, plays the lead role in ‘March 23’. Ved, who has already made a name as a director and editor in Kannada cinema, is handling both direction and editing for the film. The film is produced by G. Raju. The team has already completed most of the script work and recently released the title and title teaser of ‘March 23’.

Former Chief Minister of Karnataka and Union Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy unveiled the title and title teaser of the film and extended his best wishes to the team. Nandakumar is the cinematographer for ‘March 23’, while Ved is in charge of editing. Music is composed by Ananth Aryan, with lyrics written by K. Kalyan and Nagesh Prasanna. The selection of the remaining cast and crew is currently in its final stages. Having released the title and title teaser, the team is planning to hold the muhurat by the end of April and begin shooting soon after. Most of the film’s shooting will take place in and around Bengaluru.
