‘Koragajja’ to be Presented in 3D Technology: Team Shares Big Ugadi Update
Just when the film ‘Koragajja’, directed by Sudheer Attavar, was gearing up for release, it has been postponed once again. However, this time the team has shared an exciting update on the occasion of Ugadi — the film will now be presented using 3D technology. Typically, films are shot directly in 3D during production, as converting a 2D film into 3D later is an expensive process. However, after watching the film’s quality, an international distribution company reportedly described it as a world-class project. They noted that the locations and making are on par with some of the finest films globally and suggested enhancing it further by converting it into an advanced 3D visual experience. This, they believe, will help the film reach a global audience beyond language barriers, offering a more immersive and emotionally engaging cinematic experience.

Taking this into consideration, producer Trivikram Sapalya has decided to present ‘Koragajja’ in both 2D and 3D formats under the banners of Trivikram Cinemas and Success Films. Director Sudheer Attavar expressed his happiness over this development. A team of around 40 professionals is already working on the 3D conversion.

Underwater Climax Added to ‘Koragajja’ – To further enhance the film, portions of the climax have been reshot underwater. The shooting took place at the “Vismaya” studio in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, owned by renowned Malayalam actor Mohanlal. A special underwater set was constructed, and the scenes featuring actress Shruti were filmed by acclaimed cinematographer Manoj Pillai using four cameras. In what is believed to be a rare feat in Kannada cinema after Dr. Rajkumar’s era, actress Shruti performed underwater sequences herself. She underwent around 15 days of preparation for these scenes. Safety measures included the presence of scuba divers, an ambulance, and a medical team on set.

Shruti performed a high-risk stunt where she jumped from a height of nearly 30 feet into the water using a harness and emerged back, leaving everyone astonished. Additionally, she acted underwater for 22 seconds without oxygen support, showcasing remarkable dedication. Due to these enhancements, the film’s budget has significantly increased, reaching approximately ₹12 crore, according to executive producer Vidyadhar Shetty.
