2 Movies “Koragla Taniya” and “Kana” Muhurta Held on a Single Stage
Under the banner of Prarthana Creations, the muhurta ceremony (launch) of the films “Koragla Taniya” (Koragajja) and “Kana,” produced and directed by Dr. R. Dhanraj—renowned for “Koti Chennayya”—was held grandly at Sri Manjunatheshwara Temple, Kadri. The first shot of “Koragla Taniya” was inaugurated by MLA C. B. Suresh Babu, who clapped the inaugural shot. The temple’s chief A. G. Shetty also participated in the ceremony. Later, the camera for the Tulu film “Kana” was switched on by director Vijay Kumar Kodialbail, while lead actor Suman Talwar gave the inaugural clap.

Following the muhurta, a formal gathering was held within the temple premises, where Dr. Dhanraj’s mother K. Pushpa inaugurated the event by lighting the ceremonial lamp. Speaking on the occasion, Suman Talwar said that about 20 years ago, Dr. Dhanraj produced the successful film “Koti Chennayya,” which brought him significant recognition. He added that he is now playing a key role in Dhanraj’s new film. He also emphasized that films showcasing language, tradition, and culture should receive government subsidies and tax exemptions.

Producer-director Dr. R. Dhanraj stated that both films being made under their banner have strong storylines and meaningful messages, and will be produced in multiple languages. The event was presided over by MLA C. B. Suresh Babu. Director Vijay Kumar Kodialbail, Pammi Kodialbail, the film’s heroine, and several other dignitaries were present at the function. “Koragla Taniya,” which is being made in six languages including Kannada and Tulu, has Dr. R. Dhanraj handling the story, screenplay, dialogues, direction, and production. Archana Shetty is the co-producer of both films. Young actors Sajan Shetty and Nikhil Imani play prominent roles in the film.
