Ragini Dwivedi Completely in New Avatar; Shines in the Song of “Madanika”
Director B. S. Sanjay has returned with “Madanika,” a film carrying a unique and intriguing title. Starring Ragini Dwivedi in the lead role, the film recently unveiled its trailer and songs, which have impressed audiences with their touch of old Kannada cultural aesthetics. Speaking about the film, director B.S. Sanjay became emotional while sharing his journey behind the project. He said that several unexpected incidents occurred while developing the story, almost beyond his own understanding. He explained that he carefully shaped the narrative and later discussed it with his wife and producer Kumaraswamy, who agreed to back the project.
Sanjay further revealed that Ragini Dwivedi accepted the story and came on board for the film. He added that the movie features ten songs, including several classical compositions. According to him, “Madanika” is based on a 400-year-old story, with Ragini portraying the titular character Madanika. Actress Ragini Dwivedi said there has been tremendous curiosity surrounding the film and added that what audiences have seen so far is only the beginning. She explained that viewers have merely witnessed glimpses of “Madanika,” while behind it lies powerful performances, an engaging storyline, and many layered elements.
Describing the film as a two-and-a-half-year journey, Ragini noted how technology, filmmaking techniques, and music have evolved significantly over the years. She admitted that even the team did not anticipate such major changes during production. However, she emphasized that emotions remain timeless. According to her, the movie blends both traditional and modern elements, featuring spectacular action sequences along with strong musical compositions. She also remarked that films of this kind have not been made for many years. Music director Salam Kerala shared that he had previously worked on three films before this opportunity came his way. He thanked director Sanjay for giving him a meaningful break and described “Madanika” as the best musical work of his career. He explained that he initially approached the film with a general musical style in mind, but after discussions with the director, they decided to incorporate classical music elements into the soundtrack.
Actor Victory Vasu said the very name “Madanika” evokes the image of an attractive and graceful woman, and praised Ragini Dwivedi for bringing life to the character. He also mentioned that he shares a close friendship and professional bond of over twenty years with director Sanjay and expressed hope that audiences would make the film a success. The film is being produced by Sujatha Lakshmi and Kumaraswamy under the banners of SPR Production and Sakharth Digital House. The cast also includes Dharma Keerthiraj, Harish Raj, Ashwin, Rajvi, and several other artists. Music is composed by Salam Kerala, cinematography is handled by R. Giri, and action choreography is by Thriller Manju and Kaurava Venkatesh. The team is preparing to release the film in theatres soon.
