Cyber Crime ‘Geek’ Teaser Unveiled by 50 Celebrities
Kannada cinema has explored a wide range of storylines over the years, but films based on the cyber crime genre are quite rare. Filling that gap is the upcoming film Geek. The title itself has sparked curiosity and attracted attention, with many discussing the meaning behind the word “Geek.” Directed by young filmmaker D. Hari Prakash, the film has completed shooting and is currently in the post-production stage. To offer audiences a glimpse of the movie, the teaser was released on the D Beats YouTube channel. More than 50 celebrities from Sandalwood appreciated the concept and supported the team by participating in the digital launch.

Along with introducing the characters, the teaser provides a brief insight into the concept of “Geek.” It clearly indicates that the film is a content-driven project packed with substance. “This film is based on the misuse of mobile applications and personal data, an issue that has become increasingly common. We have blended this subject with elements of cyber crime, suspense, and thriller. Our goal was to create a film that not only has strong content but also delivers suspense and thrills. Most of the shooting was done in and around Bengaluru. Since technical quality was a top priority, we collaborated with experienced technicians,” says director Hari Prakash.

Hari Prakash, originally a software engineer, has previously directed short films that received widespread appreciation and several awards. Drawing from his experience in short filmmaking and his passion for cinema, he is eager to present something fresh with his debut feature film, and the Geek teaser stands as proof of that ambition. The film stars Praveen Tej, Chaitra Achar, Kiran Srinivas, and Veranika Shetty in key roles. Produced under the banners of SVM Productions and Hari Prakash Films, the movie is jointly financed by Sandeep Nagaraj and Priyanka. Yogeesh Raj serves as the executive producer.

The technical team includes Keerthan Poojari as cinematographer, Jo Costa as music composer, Shashank Narayan as editor, Liju Prabhakar for DI, and Arun for sound design.
