‘Thiklu Rama’ Title and Poster Unveiled Amid Festive Fervour

The title and first-look poster of the film ‘Thiklu Rama’, a name that itself brings a smile, were officially unveiled by actor Chetan on the auspicious occasion of Makara Sankranti. The event was held in the presence of invited guests at MMB Legacy, setting a celebratory tone for the film’s launch. Produced jointly by Shruti G.B. and Komal Nataraju under the banner Karishma–Shravya Combines, Tiklu Rama is written and directed by Manjukavi. Adding to the excitement was a one-minute title teaser, released alongside the poster, featuring a powerful and playful voiceover by Suchendra Prasad, which immediately caught the attention of those present. The launch event was graced by notable personalities including Shanmugha Govindaraj, grandson of the legendary Dr. Rajkumar, and C.S. Venkatesh, producer of the acclaimed film Badavara Makkalu Beli Beku Kanrayya.

Strong Ensemble Cast and Technical Team

The film boasts an impressive ensemble cast comprising Dr. Rajveer, Sangeetha, Mitra, Bhagyashree, Shruti B., Govindegowda, Vinod Gobbaragala, Suchendra Prasad, Mandya Siddu, Pavitra, among several others. On the technical front, Vinu Manasu handles the background score, while cinematography is by Raj Kadooru and Nagarajamurthy. Editing is taken care of by Venky UDV, stunts choreographed by Ultimate Shivu, and dance sequences by Jaggu. The motion poster has been released through MK Audio.

A Comedy with Heart and Purpose

Speaking at the event, Chetan praised director Manjukavi, stating that only someone with deep literary sensibility and a strong command over storytelling could attempt a film like Thiklu Rama. He emphasized that cinema thrives on the strength of a proactive and committed team, something this project clearly possesses. While the title may suggest a light-hearted comedy, the film, he said, also explores meaningful social messages, family values, and emotional depth that are intended to resonate with audiences.

Director Manjukavi echoed these sentiments, describing Chetan as a strong pillar of support for socially relevant cinema. He noted that lead actor Dr. Rajveer has been deeply involved in nurturing the story. According to the director, the first half of the film will reflect rustic village charm, while the second half will transport viewers into an entirely different world. A unique highlight of Thiklu Rama is its portrayal of human–animal bonding. Advanced technology will be used to present scenes involving animals in a realistic and visually engaging manner, giving the impression of real-life interaction. The story, rooted in true incidents, follows a character named Sri Rama and explores the circumstances that eventually transform him into Thiklu Rama—a journey audiences must witness on the big screen. The film is planned to be shot in and around Hassan and other lush green locations. Manjukavi assures that it will be a complete family entertainer, suitable for viewers from children to senior citizens.

Inspiration Behind the Title

Explaining the philosophy behind the title, the makers drew parallels to historical figures like Gautama Buddha and Swami Vivekananda, who were once misunderstood or ridiculed, only to later become icons who inspired nations. The film reflects this idea—how society often misjudges individuals before understanding their true worth. Actor Dr. Rajveer added that the narrative touches upon environmental awareness, social responsibility, and the strength of women in family life. “When he is silent, he is Rama. When he picks up the axe, he becomes Thiklu Rama,” he said, clarifying that the film does not glorify violence. Instead, it questions modern hypocrisy—how many educated individuals behave irresponsibly despite their knowledge. The story, he revealed, is inspired by real-life incidents he has heard and witnessed, now woven into a meaningful cinematic experience. With its blend of humour, emotion, social commentary, and technical ambition, ‘Thiklu Rama’ promises to be a distinctive addition to contemporary Kannada cinema.
