Suri Anna Trailer Released, Film To Hit Theatres on Feb 20

The trailer launch event of the film Soori Anna, produced and directed by actor Dinesh Kumar—popularly known as Salaga Soori Anna—under the banner DJ Prakash Cine Production, was held at Hyde Park Hotel. This film is special as it is the last film acted by the late Harish Roy, and the trailer was poignantly launched by his wife Aarti, making the occasion emotional and memorable. Speaking at the event, Velu from Lahari Audio extended birthday wishes to Dinesh Kumar, who was celebrating his birthday that day, and announced that the film will release on February 20. He praised the trailer, saying it had come out very well.

Trailer-launcher Aarti, wife of Harish Roy, said she herself was unaware that this would be her husband’s final film. “This film will definitely do well. I thank everyone from the film industry who supported us during difficult times. My husband was thinking only about cinema till his last breath. My son has grown up now and needs your support. Please don’t forget us,” she appealed emotionally. Actor Praveen shared that he plays a character named Bat in the film and had earlier played a lead role in Marigudda. He said the contribution of Vishwa to the film was immense and added, “Though he is no longer with us physically, he will always live in our hearts.” Actor Jack Jolly said he appears in a one-day cameo role for Soori Anna and expressed confidence that the trailer was impressive and the film would be a sure success.

Prasad, speaking on the occasion, said he has been in the film industry for 25 years and has trained many stars in the gym but had never appeared on screen until Soori Anna gave him a role. Actor Kamaraj (the villain from the Tamil film I) said this is his fifth Kannada film after Kabzaa and Ghost. “Wherever I go, people talk about Kannada cinema,” he added. Lead actor and director Soori Anna (Dinesh Kumar) said the film is releasing on February 20 and that he has struggled for six years to bring it to fruition. “The film carries a strong social message. Jayanna of Jayanna Films is releasing the film and has been extremely supportive. Through former rowdies, we have conveyed a message to today’s youth—don’t enter the path of rowdyism. I request everyone to support the film,” he said.

Actress Chithrala said Soori has worked extremely hard for the film and mentioned that the song ‘Neenanna Devate’ has gone very viral. “I love rowdy roles. After Om, this is a film where real rowdies have acted. It carries a powerful message,” she said. Female lead Sambhrama Shree revealed that Soori Anna even sold his house and land for the sake of the film. “The film delivers a strong message to youth through dons,” she said. Stunt director Jaguar Sannappa, editor Vishwa, music director Sridhar Kashyap (BGM), Ranjith, and Benaka Nanjappa also spoke about the film.

The cast includes Soori Anna (Dinesh Kumar), Sambhrama Shree, Baby Mareesh, Harish Roy, Ravikale, Kamaraj, SK Umesh, Honnavalli Krishna, Prakash Tuminad, Rekha Das, Cockroach Sudhi, Vinay Gowda, Jolly Jack, Prasad Kumar, along with former gangsters Motta Kanna, Jedaralli Krishnappa, Zebra, Lokesh, Kaala Patar, Yashaswini Gowda, Vedi Anna, and Gadda Naga.
