Roopesh Shetty’s Jai becomes First Tulu Movie to Debut in ZEE5 Ott

One of India’s leading digital platforms, ZEE5, is set to stream the Kannada–Tulu film “Jai” starting February 6. Depicting the social and cultural essence of Tulu Nadu, “Jai” is directed by Roopesh Shetty, who also plays the lead role. The film is an action drama and revolves around the story of a man named Satya from Simhabettu village. The narrative unfolds his fight to highlight the problems faced by his community and his struggle to find solutions to them. Along with Roopesh Shetty, the film features Raj Deepak Shetty, Adviti Shetty, Aravind Bolar, Devadas Kapikad, Naveen D. Padil, and Bhojaraj Vamanjoor in prominent roles. A major highlight of the film is the presence of renowned Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty. “Jai” marks Suniel Shetty’s first-ever Tulu film.

Showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Tulu Nadu, “Jai” enjoyed a successful theatrical run and became a talking point among audiences. Crossing language barriers, the film won hearts everywhere and is now set for its digital release on ZEE5. Speaking about the film, director and lead actor Roopesh Shetty said, “This film tells the story of our soil. It reflects the literature and culture of South Karnataka. The story is very close to my life, and the fact that it is being released on ZEE5 in both Kannada and Tulu is another significant milestone.” Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty, sharing his thoughts, said, “What inspired me to accept this film was the honesty of the team and the strength of the story.
