Ajay Rao’s 1970s Lovestory ‘Sarala Subbarao’ to hit screens on Valentine’s Day
The trailer of Sarala Subbarao, a 1970s-period romantic drama, has been released and is receiving appreciation beyond expectations. The film is produced by Lohith Nanjundayya under the Riyan Creations banner and directed by Manju Swaraj, known for his tasteful cinema. Ajay Rao and Misha Narang play the lead roles. The film is slated for release on February 12.

After the trailer launch, members of the film’s team addressed the media. Sarala Subbarao is a love story set in the 1970s. Speaking at the event, director Manju Swaraj said that the trailer was released today and the film will arrive in theatres on February 12. The story is based on a novel by Triveni. All Kannada films adapted from Triveni’s novels have been successful so far, and this is also a rare kind of story for Kannada cinema. He expressed confidence that the film would appeal to everyone.
He added that a major portion of the film was shot in a nearly 100-year-old house in Mysuru. The teaser, trailer, and songs have already won the hearts of audiences. The film stars Ajay Rao as the lead, while the female lead is played by Punjab-based actress Misha Narang. The ensemble cast includes Rangayana Raghu, Veena Sundar, Shri, Raghu Ramanakoppa, Vijay Chandoor, among others.

The music is composed by internationally acclaimed Ajaneesh Loknath, cinematography is by Pradeep Padmakumar, and editing is by Basavaraj Arasu, he informed. Actor Ajay Rao, speaking at the event, said, “I was born in 1980, but the story of this film is set in the 1970s. Director Manju Swaraj and producer Lohith have chosen a story that is quite rare in Kannada cinema. I am very happy to appear in a retro look. The trailer has caught everyone’s attention. Our film is releasing during Valentine’s Day, and I request everyone to watch it in theatres with their families and encourage us.”

Actress Misha Narang said she was very happy to be part of the film and that her character is also very good.
