Actress Prema Launches Police Complaint Movie Teaser and Songs
In recent years, women-centric action films in Kannada cinema have been quite rare. Now, a new film titled ‘Police Complaint’ is set to join that select list. The movie features Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, who was recently seen in Mark, and Ragini Dwivedi in the lead roles. Actors Naveen Chandra and Krishna Sai appear as the male leads. The film also boasts a strong supporting cast including Ravi Shankar, Sharath Lohitashwa, Anil Raj, Saptagiri, Prithviraj, Gemini Suresh, and many others. The film is directed by Sanjeev Megoti, who earlier directed Kannada films like Anu, Dandu, and Aptha starring Pooja Gandhi. Police Complaint is produced under the banner A.A.S.K Prameedashree Films. The team has completed most of the post-production work and recently released the first teaser and a song from the film.
The teaser of ‘Police Complaint’ was unveiled by actress Prema, while the first song was released by N.R.K. Vishwanath, President of the Kannada Film Directors’ Association, who extended his wishes to the team. Speaking on the occasion, director Sanjeev Megoti said he was happy to return to Kannada cinema after nearly a decade with Police Complaint. He described the film as an action-cum horror thriller built around the idea that the consequences of one’s actions eventually come back to haunt them. The film features more than 50 actors from both Kannada and Telugu industries. It is being made in both Kannada and Telugu, and the makers are planning to release it simultaneously in both languages.
Talking about her role, Ragini Dwivedi said that the film is quite different from the projects she has done before. Her character revolves around the relationship between a mother and her child, and the story blends action, horror, and emotional elements. She expressed confidence that the film will appeal to audiences of all kinds. Actor Krishna Sai, one of the lead actors, said that although he has previously acted in a few Telugu films, this will be his first film as a lead actor in Kannada cinema. He added that he was impressed by the story and his role in the film.
The film’s first song has been composed by Aarohan Sudheendra, with vocals by B.R. Chaya. Harish Sondekoppa has handled the cinematography. During the teaser and song release event, several other actors and technicians of the film shared their experiences of working on the project. Having launched its promotional campaign with the teaser and audio release, the team is now planning to bring ‘Police Complaint’ to theatres in the middle of this year.
