Woman-centric ‘Mrutyudevate’ Trailer Released
The film ‘Mrutyudevate’, written, directed, and headlined by Naveen Mahadev in his debut, has completed all its production work and is now gearing up for release. Ahead of that, on Thursday evening at Utsav Legacy auditorium, the trailer along with the songs ‘Kaali’ and ‘Mahadev’ were launched. Former councillor and businessman K. Ramesh released the trailer, while entrepreneur and social worker Srinivas unveiled the ‘Mahadev’ song and extended his wishes to the team. Veteran actress Vinaya Prakash, who plays a key role in the film, released the making video of the ‘Kaali’ song.

Speaking at the event, director Naveen Mahadev said, “I had earlier made a short film. Even before its release, I wrote the story and screenplay and directed ‘Mrutyudevate’. No matter how intelligent or educated women are, sometimes they unknowingly fall into traps. I have tried to portray that in this film.” He highlighted a powerful dialogue from the movie: “Girls who value their dignity should stay away from people who are addicted to alcohol, money, bad company, and arrogance.” He explained that the story follows a girl who silently endures such troubles, but when pushed to the extreme, she transforms into a fierce force—like Goddess Kali or Chamundi. That transformation forms the core of the film.

He also mentioned that the team is planning to release the film on the occasion of Dr. Rajkumar’s birthday, and that the film is currently awaiting censor certification. Actress Sarika, who previously acted in the women-centric film ‘Sahara’, said, “I play the role of Aarathi, an innocent girl. The character shows how far someone can go when provoked. I performed action sequences for the first time in this film.” She added that much of the shooting happened at night, including in forest locations, and praised cinematographer Anirudh for presenting everyone beautifully on screen. She also shared that working with senior actress Vinaya Prasad was a great learning experience.

Veteran actress Vinaya Prasad emphasized the team’s unity, saying, “Everyone has worked with full understanding of their responsibilities. The visuals you see in the poster—mountains, hills, and mist—are real, not designed. We shot in such beautiful locations near Male Mahadeshwara Hills. This film carries a meaningful message, and I’m confident it will turn out well.” Actress Himashree, who plays another key role, said, “I portray Sandhya, a village girl who speaks the Mandya dialect. I’ve never done such a role before, and I appear without makeup. I also have a song in the film. I’m happy to be part of such a good project.”
Apart from Sarika and Vinaya Prasad, the film features Naveen Mahadev, Himashree, Diana, Mahin Kubera, Surya, Pavan, Varshitha, and others. The film’s technical crew includes cinematography by Anirudh, music by Shivaprasad, choreography by Raghu, action direction by Ultimate Shivu and Chitta Jadhav, and editing by Vikramaditya. The film is produced by Saraswati (wife of Naveen Mahadev) under the Varshitha Productions banner.
