Emotional Song from Amruta Anjan Released Ahead of January 30 Theatrical Release

The upcoming Kannada film Amruta Anjan, created by a team of promising young talents, is all set to hit theatres across Karnataka on January 30. Ahead of its release, the makers unveiled a soulful emotional song at a special event held at Utsav Lagassi, GT Mall, where the cast and crew also interacted with the media. The film is the feature-film adaptation of the popular short film Amrutanjan, which gained wide attention for its inspirational theme — that with interest, purpose and determination, anyone can reach their destination in life. Riding on that spirit, the same creative team has now brought the story to the big screen.

Director Jyoti Rao Mohit, who earlier made Soda Buddi, said this is his second film and that Amruta Anjan was born from the success of the short film. “We faced many challenges even while finalizing the title, which is why we settled on Amruta Anjan. This is a complete comedy entertainer with 80% humour and 20% emotion. It has two-and-a-half songs, and today we released the emotional one.” Speaking about the song, the director added: “The inspiration came from my own childhood. My father used to trouble my mother, and that reality became the soul of this song. Senior actor Naveen D. Padil and Madhumathi have delivered brilliant performances as the parents. Lyricist Venkatesh Kulkarni has written it beautifully.” Mohit also said that the film is extremely important to him. “This film has to succeed. If it fails, I will not make another film. Despite not getting star support for promotions, we are thankful to distributors and Jayanna Films for releasing the movie. We request everyone to watch and support our film.”

Actor Gaurav Shetty, who plays an alcoholic in the film, said: “The story shows how my wife tries to change me. We need your support for the film to reach people. We have already done a preview show — audiences laughed a lot in the first half and got emotional in the second. We even acted some scenes after drinking to make it realistic. This is a film the whole family can enjoy.” Actor Sudhakar Gowda spoke emotionally about the struggles behind the project. “We have come from zero to here. Some controversies were blown out of proportion, but all we want is to grow in cinema. Please watch our performances on screen and bless us.”

Actress Payal Changappa, making her film debut, said: “This is my first film. I thank the director for giving me this opportunity. The movie has romance, college life and family emotions. Please watch it in theatres from January 30.” Senior actress Madhumathi, who plays the mother, added: “After doing comic roles in short films, I got a deeply emotional role here. The story is different and touching.” Actor Karthik Ruvari said: “This is very different from our regular comedy short films. Everyone has a pair in the film, but I play a single character. It’s full entertainment.”
