“Gharga” Trailer Released by a Die-hard Saikumar Fan

The trailer launch event of the much-awaited film “Gharga”, produced by Ashwini Ram Prasad (producer of Jogi, Preeti Yeke Bhoomi Melide and other hits), was held at Orion Mall. His son Arun Ram Prasad is making his debut as a hero with this film. “Gharga” is the name of a village, and the film carries the tagline “The Land of Shadow.”
Veteran actor Saikumar plays a key role, while Rehana is the female lead. The film is written and directed by M. Shashidhar. During the event, Saikumar, who has completed 50 years in the film industry, was felicitated.
In a special moment, a hardcore Saikumar fan recreated the famous dialogue from “Police Story”, after which Saikumar was made to release the trailer.

Speaking on the occasion, Saikumar said: “The moment Shashi narrated the story, I felt I had to be a part of this film. It is a ghost-time investigative kind of role that I have never done before. We need more such directors. When I heard Ashwini Ram Prasad was the producer, I was very happy — he has made many quality Kannada films. This film is very rich in content.” Producer Ashwini Ram Prasad said: “I made this film purely for the story. There is so much creativity and substance in it. I loved the way Shashi narrated it and the screenplay. This is not an ordinary film — it is something different. You will realize it after watching it. We are releasing it next month.”

Distributor KCN Kumar said: “The film has turned out very well and will release on February 6. Director Shashi is very talented — I have already given him an advance for my next film.” Director Shashidhar said: “The producer gave me a great opportunity, and I have made the best use of it. I have made a film that audiences will love. The hero has three different looks in the movie. After watching this trailer, you would have gained confidence — the movie is also just as good. Watch the film and then call me, whether you like it or not.”

Hero Arun Ram Prasad said: “From the time the director narrated the story, I was confident. My role is very different — it has shades of a writer, researcher and an underworld connection. This is a horror-crime thriller. Even before facing the camera, I trained in fights, action and dance.” On stage, music composer R. P. Patnaik sang a song he had composed for the film. Many dignitaries including Raviraj, brother of Radhika Kumaraswamy, were present. “Gharga” is an adventurous horror drama in which Arun plays a writer and researcher. The film is being released by N. Kumar. The movie contains horror, suspense, thriller and action elements and has been shot in Mangaluru, Chikkamagaluru, Dandeli, Agumbe and Bengaluru.
