 “Matte Male Hoyyutide” Completes Shooting

With the exception of the technicians, all the artistes in the movie Matte Male Hoyyutide are newcomers. The film carries the tagline “Ellla Nenapaguttide” (“Everything is Remembered”).

Gangadhar, who has worked as an assistant art director for three decades, is investing in the film under the banner of Gaviranganath Swamy Pictures, in his wife Suma’s name. Shruti Anil Kumar is also the co-producer and plays the role of a professor. The film has been directed by Param Gubbi, who has been active in the film industry for many years. The story, dialogues, and lyrics are by Kabaddi Narendrababu, with music composed by Atishay Jain.

The producer’s son G. Likhith and theatre artist Jayavardhan (who appears in two different shades) are the male leads. The heroines are Sulaksha Khair and Bhoomika Gowda. Alongside them, Chandrashekhar Reddy A.M., Prakash Murthy, Kumari Swarna, Shruti, Dinamani, and Kavya Kumari have acted in supporting roles.

Speaking on the occasion, the director said that the film is based on a short story by writer K. Sadashiva, titled Matte Male Hoyyutide. “When we later went to seek permission, we found that all the author’s immediate family had passed away. Through the Kannada Sahitya Parishat, we learned that his daughter lives in the U.S. We obtained permission from her. In addition, we decided to donate the honorarium amount to the Sahitya Parishat, to institute an annual award in Sadashiva’s name for young writers. The producers readily agreed to this. Kabaddi Narendrababu has played a key role in making this story into a film,” the director explained.

The movie spans two timelines—the 1980s and the 2000s. The first couple’s love story ends in tragedy, while the second couple’s story succeeds. The situations between the two timelines stir the audience’s emotions. Rain plays a crucial role in the film, and meaningful messages are interwoven throughout. Filming took place in scenic locations such as Sringeri, Horanadu, Koppa, Hariharapura, and Agumbe, and was successfully completed in 24 days with everyone’s cooperation. Post-production work is currently underway, with plans to release the film in October, said director Param Gubbi.

Wishing the team success, Film Chamber President Narasimhulu said, “Just as ‘Su From So’ brought rain to the drought-stricken Kannada film industry, this film too will bring fresh showers. This is a matter of joy.” He added that there is a record of films with heavy rain sequences finding success. Director’s Association President N.R.K. Vishwanath remarked, “The director, originally a writer, has a treasure of stories within him. He has chosen another writer’s work and given it due respect by honoring the author. This is a very healthy development.” Similarly, Producers’ Association President Umesh Banakar praised the team’s efforts.

The technical team includes cinematography by Shantarav Ipili, editing by Dhanush Veer, art direction by Babu Khan, and choreography by Nanda.
