“Pingaksha” – New Multilingual Horror Film Launched in Bengaluru

Adding another divine name of Lord Hanuman to the silver screen, a new horror film titled “Pingaksha” was launched at Sri Balamuri Varasiddi Vinayaka Temple in Nandini Layout. The project is being produced under the Sagittarian Films banner by B. Vasudevarao, with his son B. Bharat Vasudev—a techie-turned-filmmaker—writing the story, screenplay, and directing. The movie carries the tagline “Voices of the Dead.”

Director Bharat Vasudev shared that unlike regular horror films, Pingaksha aims to keep viewers gripped with terrifying sequences from beginning to end. The story follows a family man’s struggle to protect his loved ones from evil forces, with divine intervention playing a key role. Themes of love, marriage, and family are woven alongside thrills, with four songs and three action sequences planned. Filming is scheduled across scenic locations including Bengaluru, Mangaluru, Chikkamagaluru, Madikeri, Kalpi, Munnar, and Kochi.

The film stars Santosh Kumar as an ACP, with Risha Gowda as the female lead, Bhargav in a special role, and Kerala actress Airam Menon as the second heroine. The supporting cast includes Avinash, Rangayana Raghu, Kitti Talikote, Naga Mahesh, Balraj Wadi, Sharath Lohitashwa, Vardhan, Asha and others. Dialogues are by B. Rajarathna, music by Christopher Jaison, cinematography by J.K. Ganesh, and stunts by Yoganand D.C.

Significantly, Pingaksha is being made as a multilingual release in Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam.
