Pranam is now ‘MGR’, Prajwal is the producer- Title Launched by Devaraj

A new film is being produced under the joint banner of Dynamic Ventures and Purathana Film Productions. Actor Prajwal Devaraj has stepped into production with this project, which bears the distinctive title ‘MGR’. The film’s title and first look were officially launched on Wednesday evening, marking the birthday of the film’s lead actor Pranam Devaraj.

Veteran actor Devaraj, who attended the event as the chief guest, extended his blessings to his son and described the moment as a joyous one. “I became a producer 30 years after entering the film industry. Now my son has become a producer in just 10–12 years. Cinema is all we know, and we always feel the urge to do something within this world. Purathana Films is producing its second film with my son. Even I was surprised seeing Pranam’s look in the poster—he appears in a mass avatar. Music director Charan Raj is one of my favourites; his songs never lose their soul. DOP Krishna Muttanna has done excellent work earlier too. It feels good to work with people who truly understand us,” he said.

Speaking on the occasion, Divya Keshav, Executive Producer of Purathana Films, expressed happiness about collaborating with Prajwal Devaraj as a producer. Director Srikanth Hunsur shared that this is his second film with Pranam after Muttanna. “We will reveal what ‘MGR’ stands for in the coming days. We’ve made a conscious effort to present Pranam in a completely different way. The title may spark debate, but the concept is solid,” he said. Producer Prajwal Devaraj stated that the entire film revolves around Pranam. “We will stand behind him and support the project. The story is set in 2005. We are planning the muhurat towards the end of March or around Ugadi. Through our banner, we also aim to give opportunities to new talent,” he added.

Lead actor Pranam Devaraj said he was happy that his brother is producing the film. “With MGR, a new chapter begins for me. The character will make audiences cry, laugh, and cheer during fights. My appearance and body language will be completely different. I’m undergoing extensive preparation for the role,” he said. The film features cinematography by Skating Krishna and music composed by Charan Raj.
