Trailer Released for the Supernatural Found-Footage Film “Omen”

A new team of young filmmakers has brought a fresh wave of intrigue to Sandalwood with their upcoming horror film Omen. Produced under the banners of Maravanji Productions and Sri Angala Parameshwari Movie Makers, the film is backed by Ajay Kumar and V. Mirunalini. The trailer of the movie was launched recently.
Director Vibin S. Santosh explained, “The word ‘Omen’ means a sign or prophecy, which adds a unique layer of meaning to our story. The film is shot in a found-footage style and revolves around events that occur in and around a particular house. Two people enter a haunted bungalow; the lead actor Ajay Kumar plays a YouTuber, and the female lead Neeshma Shetty plays a paranormal researcher. Unlike earlier horror or paranormal activity-based films, this one is different in both tone and treatment.” He further added, “We shot for about 38 days in an old building near Anekal. We created our own sets within the space as needed. Since I have a background in VFX, I was able to use the technology effectively to serve the film. I personally handled the editing. The background score has come out excellently. I’m grateful to the producers, cast, and technical team for their full support. We plan to release the film soon.”
Ajay Kumar, the producer and lead actor, said “I come from a farming family and we’re also into the land business. I’ve worked in the film industry as an assistant director and was part of actor-director Kashinath’s last film. He always said that a strong story is the foundation of a successful film. Taking that advice, I have both produced and acted in this film. Our team has worked in a very disciplined manner. Neeshma Shetty has performed her role remarkably well. We are planning for a theatrical release in August through distributor Vijay.”
Producer Mirunalini, who supported the film through its final stages of production, added:
“Our film will give audiences the feeling of watching something real. With the use of advanced computer graphics, the visual output is very impressive. I have now taken full responsibility for the film’s release.”
Bhuvan Shankar and Sanskaar, who have already scored music for five films, shared:
“Though this film has no songs, the background score was extremely challenging. We completed it within 15 days.”
Raghu, who plays an inspector in the film, spoke about his experience. Other cast members include Maitri Jaggi, Keerthana Pulki, and Akash Kulkarni. The SFX work was handled by Ansho S. Simon. The film’s editing was also done by the director himself.
The trailer which the team has worked hard to create has now been released and is going viral across platforms. The film is scheduled for a grand release across Karnataka next month.
